CHATON (KITTEN) is a singer, songwriter, producer, author and much more who originally released music under the moniker Siméo, before going onto produce and compose for the likes of Yannick Noah and Amel Bent. However, it’s with POSSIBLE, his masterful debut album which dropped this past March, where CHATON truly shines. An amalgamation of sounds, POSSIBLE is an autobiographical account which details his incredible journey with gems like “Poésies” and “N’importe quoi” that are packed with luxurious melodies and minimalist instrumentation, POSSIBLE is an opus of CHATON’s poignant poetry and artistry.
For COLORS, CHATON presents a silky smooth performance of previously unreleased single “Monde Entier” which translates to “Whole World”. Soundtracked by a twinkling electronic led and trap-inspired beat that wonderfully serves as the backbone to the track, it’s CHATON’s silky smooth and auto-tuned vocal performance that steals the show here. Even though you may not understand what’s being said, you can’t help but hear a subtle sadness to CHATON’s invocations; and the juxtaposition between the bouncy instrumentation and the subdued and warming tones is magical. You can’t quite choose whether to dance or cry, or both – either way, enjoy the magnificent show above and be sure to check out CHATON’s stunning album POSSIBLE.
